Supporters of Everton have shown their love for a Twitter post from Tim Cahill following a blunder during a Mikel Arteta press conference.

Following Arsenal’s victory over Leeds United in the FA Cup, a phone with an Everton ring tone went off during the Spaniard’s post-match debrief, which the former Everton striker appeared to own up to (via Tim Cahill), which had fans in stitches.

Was Tim Cahill the Toffees' greatest striker in the past 20 years?

No, there's no chance

Yes, he was a great for us

Yes, he was a great for us

After 68 goals and 29 assists in 276 games for the Toffees (per Transfermarkt), it is clear that the 40-year-old former striker has a soft spot for Everton as he has shown on many occasions.

Despite the video from Match of the Day clearly showing that it was not Cahill himself who left the room following the ringtone, fans still gushed over the Australian’s remark.

What do we think?

While it is clear that it was not actually Cahill’s phone, it is funny nonetheless. Whoever’s phone it was, there will surely have been a red face for that blue.
