Everton fans have taken to Twitter to respond to the latest injury update concerning Jean-Philippe Gbamin.
This comes after Everton fan Twitter account @EvertonNewsFeed shared a post on their page relaying quotes made by head coach Carlo Ancelotti in a recent press conference that Gbamin “suffered a set back to his rehab and will require further surgery.” (via Everton FC).
Is Gbamin likely to play for Everton ever again?
Yes
No
Ancelotti also added that he hopes to see Gbamin back in action “before the end of the season.”
This post then led to a number of Everton fans replying to the post with their thoughts on Gbamin’s latest setback.
Here’s a sample of Everton fans discussing Gbamin’s latest injury update:
Add this guy to the list of deadwood we already have. Sounds harsh but I can’t see him doing much.

The 24-year-old, who is currently valued at £25.2 million according to Transfermarkt, has only made two appearances for the Toffees so far this season after suffering a hamstring injury at the start of the season that he is yet to recover from. Now with this latest update revealing that Gbamin has suffered a setback in his recovery, some Everton fans have not taken the news well.
The bad luck continues…I really wanted to see him play for us ?

How many times has this happened to everton?? a player with a bigger medical bill than his salary

Shut it down til next season. Can’t rush an injury as severe as his.

What do we think?
After being sidelined for so long, it is so unfortunate for Gbamin having suffered yet another setback in his recovery. If he does not get to make another appearance for the club this season, the year will have been a complete write-off for him.
