Supporters of Everton were left in shock following the quoted transfer fee for the Toffees to sign Allan from Napoli at Carlo Ancelotti’s request.
According to Il Mattino, as cited by Sport Witness, the club’s 60-year-old Italian gaffer had requested that club officials chase the 29-year-old, however, they were quoted ‘at least €80m’ (£67.7m) (via Everton News Feed), which shocked fans.

Should Everton stump up the cash that Napoli have reportedly requested for Allan?Yes, he's a world-class talentNo, it's just far too much |
So far this term, the Brazilian midfielder with a market value of £45 million (per Transfermarkt), has featured in 20 games in all competitions for his Serie A club, in which he has scored once and assisted once (per Transfermarkt).
Despite a steady average rating of 6.82/10 for the season so far (as per WhoScored), Everton fans felt that the 29-year-old was in no way worth the huge outlay.
Lies. Move on.

Don’t want him for that much

Keep him in the same place. There are still more suitable people and more value for money than they have.

What do we think?
While it can definitely be argued that Allan is a world-class talent when looking at his record at the highest level across his career (per Transfermarkt), as many suggest the quoted fee is vastly inflated.
While Allan would be an immediate upgrade on what the Toffees already have in the centre of the park, due to their weak showing across the board this term (per WhoScored), the Toffees could surely find a player that was better value for money.
