Supporters of Everton have reacted to a Twitter post from Carlo Ancelotti following the 2-2 draw against Newcastle United.
Following the disappointing collapse at Goodison Park, the 60-year-old Italian posted stating that the team were ‘disillusioned with the final result but optimistic’ with how the side played (as per Carlo Ancelotti), which had many fans reacting.
We are disillusioned with the final result but optimistic with our playing… We have amazing fans! Thank you for your support. #COYB pic.twitter.com/UqpDSLW6Rc

We go again, Carlo! Positives to take for sure. ?

100% anyone who blames him for this game is not a football fan. Did he tell Pickford to stand in the back of his net? No. Did he give Tom Davies a contract no ?. Let him rinse the squad and let him buy who ever he wants. Carlo fantastico ???

So disheartening coming out of Goodison Park tonight after absolutely cruising through and 2-0 up at 90 minutes, have to admit the game was a much better performance and I enjoyed the football, just not the last couple of minutes and the result

Sure you have seen some crazy momentsbin your time Carlo, but last night was something else! Still, we live and learn. Got to take the positives, thought that was our best 80 minutes of the season.

Who do you blame the most for the capitulation against Newcastle United?Carlo AncelottiThe players |
The game at Goodison Park on Tuesday night was quite the nail-biter for Everton fans, as two last-minute goals secured a point for the Toon to take back to the North East (as per BBC).
However, some supporters felt that Ancelotti was not taking enough ownership for the draw with his tweet and wanted to let their manager know that they were holding him accountable.
Just one thing, can you get someone else to make subs? You’re dreadful at that. Thanks ?

Your substitutions let you down fella… Kean and Bernard were unbelievable tonight, yet you took them off ???

Shouldn’t have gone so defensive! Should have gone for the 3rd and kept the ball down the other end! They didn’t get into the match until you invited the pressure on! #EVENEW You’re a class manager and will now learn #Everton isn’t Atletico Madrid

Sort out the mentality Carlo , that was the most unprofessional minute of football I’ve seen

What do we think?
While the capitulation from the Toffees was really quite astounding and the substitutions will certainly have played a factor, the majority of the blame should lie with the players on the pitch, as can be seen from the defenders’ weak ratings (as per Liverpool Echo).
On an occasion like last night, football players need to use smart game management to slow the pace and maintain possession, neither occurred and the Toffees paid the price, Ancelotti cannot be held totally accountable for a minute of madness.
