This week Crystal Palace welcomed Scott Banks to Selhurst Park after the club signed him from Dundee United. The deal will see Banks stay at Crystal Palace for at least three years. Banks plays as an attacking midfielder and is certainly one for the future considering his age of 18. He has played limited senior football this season, seeing 158 minutes for the first-team. In that time, however, he recorded an assist.
Upon hearing this news, Crystal Palace fans were left unsure of what to think. The club has failed to win a game since their Boxing Day match against West Ham. This leaves many fans wanting first-team signings and, therefore, underwhelmed at Banks’ arrival. They think Banks will be sent straight to the development squad.
Marvellous. Welcome. Straight into the academy.

He’ll play less than 5 games for first team, probably all in league cup. Pointless. Jach 2.0

Do you think Scott Banks will be a starter in a few years?
Yes
No
Others are staying positive and believe they have just bought a player who will make a big difference in the future.

What do we think?
These fans are likely safe in assuming that Banks won’t play right away. His age, and lack of first-team experience, suggests he was brought in for the future. There is still an opportunity for him to make a difference right now, however, assuming he is brought into the academy side.
