Aston Villa fans have been responding on Twitter to the latest fitness update to Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy ahead of their Carabao Cup showdown at Villa Park in midweek.
This comes after @SkySportsNews shared a post on their official page relaying news originally shared by Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers in his recent press conference.
Will Villa beat Leicester City on Tuesday?
Yes
No
Rodgers revealed that Vardy’s injury is not as serious as first feared and is “hopeful” he will be fit for the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final on Tuesday.
This post then gathered a number of replies from Villa fans who were not happy with this latest fitness update on Vardy.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans responding to the post:
Fingers crossed… That he isn’t quite ready for Tuesday ?

I hope he can play. So I can see his face when Leicester lose.

The striker picked up an injury in their recent win over West Ham United. Now that Rodgers has revealed that Vardy’s injury is not as serious as they first thought, a lot of Villa fans have been sharing their disappointment with this latest update.
I’m hopeful he won’t be fit UTV

No offense to Sir Jamie, I hope he takes that one off and comes back the next week.

Mind games, he won’t be fit from that

What do we think?
Given that Vardy has scored 17 goals in 22 Premier League appearances so far this season (per Transfermarkt), it’s understandable why these Villa fans don’t want the Englishman to play against them on Tuesday. Whether Vardy plays or not, Villa will need to beat the Foxes to progress to the final of the Carabao Cup.
