Aston Villa fans have been reacting on Twitter to the latest update surrounding a potential Villa Park exit for James Chester.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @villareport shared a post on their page relaying news originally shared by Gregg Evans that Championship side Stoke City are “confident” about signing Chester on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old has only made five appearances for Dean Smith’s side in all competitions so far this season (per Transfermarkt). Now that news has emerged that Chester could be on his way out of the club until the end of the season, numerous Villa fans have been making their thoughts on the move known on Twitter.

What do we think?
Looking at his appearance record so far this season, it’s clear that Chester is out of favour with Smith and not likely to gain a place in the team on a regular basis. If Stoke do manage to take Chester away from Villa this month and are able to give him regular playing time until the end of the season, it could well get Chester’s season back on track and maybe push for a place at Villa next season.
