Reports suggest that Slaven Bilic is keen on Mislav Orsic and that West Brom are confident on getting the deal done.

According to a report from Express and Star, Bilic is interested in signing Orsic, with Albion confident that a deal can be completed should the manager give them the green light to secure the Croatian’s signature.

The Baggies are said to be ready for a busy end to the January transfer window, with the manager keen to bring in two more attacking options before the deadline in a couple of days (Express and Star).

What type of player is Mislav Orsic?

Playing mostly on the left-wing, Orsic has scored 11 goals in 13 league matches for his current side Dinamo Zagreb, as well as 8 goals in 13 cup competition matches. The 27-year-old has played as a centre-forward and on the right-wing, which shows some useful versatility should West Brom ever need it (Transfermarkt).

Orsic also brings a wide range of experience, playing in countries like Korea, Italy and Slovenia just to name a few. We are not sure if this has impacted his English language skills, but with Slaven Bilic coming from Croatia, the 27-year-old should be able to settle in just fine (Transfermarkt).

The Zagreb born winger is probably the most notable player for his agent HBR Sport, with the next being Sandro Kulenovic who also plays for Dinamo Zagreb. This could help get a deal to the Baggies done faster, as a smaller agency will likely have lower fees and will be more keen to get their players into England’s top division – something Bilic will be aiming for this season.

Verdict

There is no doubt that Mislav Orsic brings goals, so to see that Slaven Bilic is interested in the 27-year-old is only positive news for Baggies fans. The attacker certainly appears to have plenty of versatility and experience that he can offer the promotion-chasers and could, perhaps, offer them an ‘X-factor’ that they may need should he arrive at The Hawthorns between now and Friday.
