Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that he nearly has a fully-fit squad for the Whites’ trip to Wigan, with no new injuries to report of.

The Argentine also said that Gaetano Berardi has overcome a calf injury, and Barry Douglas is close to a return from injury.

Indeed, it’s a boost for Leeds to have an experienced member back in Berardi, as well as Barry Douglas edging closer as he knows how to get promoted from the division as he experienced it with Wolves. Ezgjan Alioski has also been filling in at left-back at times this season, so it will be good to have healthy competition.

Will Forshaw play for Leeds again this season?

However, Bielsa did not provide an update on Adam Forshaw, who has missed 22 matches this season.

However, Leeds are now approaching the business end of the season with a full squad and momentum after they secured a stunning 3-2 win over Millwall.

What do we think?

Forshaw’s injury has baffled everyone this season; he was initially only meant to be out for a short period of time but has now missed a huge portion of the season.

Leeds are done in the transfer market, but with the 28-year-old’s problems, could they have done with a central midfielder?

Kalvin Phillips is currently suspended, and on Tuesday, Stuart Dallas, like he has done at various points this season, filled in.

However, if an injury happens to Phillips or Mateusz Klich, then Leeds could be left short unless Forshaw recovers.

The whole injury suffered by the former Middlesbrough player is confusing because it was reported at the beginning of the month that he was back out on the grass, but while Jamie Shackleton and Tyler Roberts have recovered Forshaw is still nowhere to be seen.

It is almost as if he has been injured for so long now that Bielsa does not see the need to mention him in press conferences.

Hopefully, the 28-year-old does play again this season.

Nevertheless, the fact that he has no new injury concerns and two players are on the brink of returning, it’s safe to say that the Whites’ squad is shaping up nicely.
