Sunderland fans have heard nothing but bad news over the last month and a half. Ever since Jack Ross was sacked and replaced with Phil Parkinson, results haven’t gone their way (Sunderland). Aside from a 5-0 win against Tranmere, the Black Cats have been unable to score more than one goal in a game under the new boss (WhoScored.com).
It appears that the fans aren’t the only people discontent with the way the team is headed. The club released a statement announcing that Executive Director Charlie Methven was stepping down from his position (Sunderland Echo). It is unknown whether this news will bring good fortune to Sunderland or not, however, it does rub the fans the wrong way. While they may be happy to see him go, they criticise him for jumping ship so quickly. They think it is time to make a change to the management structure.

Another wants to see Stewart Donald gone as well. Another believes the duo have sucked more than just the life out of the club.

What do we think?
With Sunderland Football Club performing so poorly, it makes sense why Methven would want to leave. And despite most parties involved benefiting from the move, the fans are still quick to criticise Methven’s involvement with the club.
