These Liverpool fans got slightly over-excited by the ‘hugely unlikely’ chance of signing PSG star Kylian Mbappe.
So far this season, Mbappe has scored six goals and also has three assists in nine games for PSG in Ligue 1, the 20-year-old is valued at a whopping £180m by Transfermarkt. This would probably be the biggest transfer in football history, so you can see why fans would get excited over something that might be, perhaps, considered unrealistic.
David Maddock of the Mirror claimed that the Nike deal will be announced soon when talking to LFC4Ar, and his slight mention of Kylian Mbappe resulted in many fans remaining hopeful of his potential arrival.
“Nike deal with Liverpool will be announced soon – when the timing allows maximum publicity. Nike would still want a high profile signing to coincide with their new deal, but don’t expect an Mbappe. That is still hugely unlikely” [@MaddockMirror via @LFC4Ar] pic.twitter.com/BBK8qpeaFm

So what you’re saying is there’s still a 0.000001% chance of signing Mbappe? #mbappe2020 is still a go.

Love that it’s ‘unlikely’ and hasn’t been categorically ruled out

Is Kylian Mbappe on his way to Anfield?
Definitely #Mbappe2020
Never happening
The 20-year-old has also scored four goals in four UEFA Champions League matches, proving once again that he can mix with the worlds best competitors.

What Do We Think?
With Mbappe’s current price tag, it’s hard to imagine any team signing him. However, right now if the 20-year-old was to go anywhere, why wouldn’t it be Liverpool? The Reds are arguably the most successful side right now and have a much better chance of winning the UEFA Champions League than PSG possibly have. Only time will tell whether the France international ace will be plying his trade at Anfield, although it appears he would be welcomed with open arms.
