Rangers fans would have been relieved at the final whistle after their side beat their rivals 2-1 in the league. The Parkhead victory was a huge statement in the club’s 55th league title bid. The winning goal was scored by Nikola Katic in the 56th minute of the match.
The Croatian centre-back was brilliant throughout the match, scoring his second goal of the month (transfermarkt.co.uk). The thumping header sunk Neil Lennon’s side and won three points for Steven Gerrard. After the match, Rangers Twitter posted a gif of the goal. Supporters praised the player and explained that Rangers were coming for the league. Another fan thinks Katic should start over Filip Helander.

As good as Helander has been at times, it’s clear than Katic should be the man starting along side Goldson every game. Outstanding today and what a header to take all three points back to Ibrox

Who should start alongside Connor Goldson?
Katic
Helander
Other fans pleaded with the club to sign more Croatians. Borna Barisic, the player who assisted the goal, and Katic, are both from Croatia.
Sign more Croatian players

What do we think?
Katic’s impact on the game was huge. His winning goal will go down in Rangers folklore. He is the last player to score in this decade for Rangers, and will hopefully play a large part in the team’s future going forward.
