Newcastle fans have been sharing their frustrations on Twitter over the latest update on January transfer target Jarrod Bowen.
This comes after Newcastle news Twitter account @NUFC360 shared a post on their page relaying news originally published by the Mirror (via Leicester Mercury), that Leicester City are “set to win the race” for Bowen’s signature in January.
Should Newcastle go all out to secure Jarrod Bowen in January?
Yes, get him in
No, forget about him
This post then gathered some replies from Newcastle fans who were not happy to learn they could miss out on the Hull City winger.
Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans reacting to the latest update on Bowen:
If we don’t get this lad we are missing out big time – who would ever have thought Leicester City would be signing players ahead of NUFC in the pre Ashley era?

If we miss out it’s because we refused to pay the going rate in the summer, hoping we could get him for a bargain. As always.

Should be all over this for that price

The 22-year-old has been one of the Championship’s standout performers so far this season. In 23 appearances for Hull this season, Bowen has scored 17 goals and picked up three assists along the way (per TransferMarkt).
Although, now with this latest update saying fellow Premier League side Leicester City are in the lead to secure Bowen’s services in January, some Newcastle fans are not pleased.
Took too long on this, we should have moved for him in the summer

Disappointing if true, this is a deal we could’ve had done in the summer

Once someone wants the same player as NUFC, forget it. Ashley never competes for anyone
— Toon Crier (@CrierToon) December 16, 2019
Would be typical Newcastle United if this happens

This has really stunned me. Newcastle are normally so pro-active with transfers and generally spend money in January under Ashley. Didn’t see this one coming…..

Pathetic

What do we think?
If Newcastle do end up losing Bowen to Leicester, they would have let a fantastic potential addition slip through their fingers. Of course, Allan Saint-Maximin is currently spending time out of the side and Matt Ritchie has been out through injury, so there’s definitely plenty of room for an attacking wideman.
