Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react to Nuno Espirito Santo’s comments after his side’s defeat at Anfield.
This comes after football journalist @MelissaReddy_ shared a post on her official Twitter page relaying quotes made by the Wolves manager after his team’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.
The Portuguese manager claimed VAR decisions are “taken by a ref miles away looking at a TV screen, who has no feel of the game.”
Was Nuno Espirito Santo right to criticise VAR?
Yes
No
This post then gathered some replies from Liverpool fans who did not like Espirito Santo’s comments.
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans responding to Espirito Santo’s comments:
That’s the point nuno. Takes the emotion out of it to give a correct decision.

Facts don’t care about your feelings

Offside isn’t about feelings is it?

VAR was involved in the match to disallow an equalising goal for Wolves at the end of the first half for a marginal offside. This decision did not go down well with Espirito Santo who then called out the referees assessing the decision away from the stadium.
These comments caught the attention of some Liverpool fans who did not agree with them.
That was the point of them been far away so that they are not affected by the stadium or ‘feel of the game’

I understand his frustration but “feel for the game” doesn’t come into it.

Dreadful ‘old school’ thinking that. There’s a happy medium to be found with VAR on offside balls, but they must stick with it.

What on earth has the feel of the game got to do with it

Smell a fine, understand his frustration though

What do we think?
Espirito Santo would have undoubtedly been annoyed with the marginal decision to disallow his side an equalising goal at Anfield, but his comments after the match just were not necessary and seemingly backfired on him.
