Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react to former club chairman David Moores returning to Anfield.
This comes after Liverpool CEO Peter Moore shared a post on his official page announcing Moores’ first return to Anfield in 10 years alongside wife Marge.
This post then gathered some replies from Liverpool fans who were happy to see their former chairman attend Wednesday’s 5-2 victory over Everton.
Were Liverpool right to welcome back David Moores to Anfield?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans welcoming Moores back to Anfield:
Glad to see him back, it wasn’t his fault what happened with the sale and he was genuinely very upset, he would never have sold to them if he knew what would happen everything is easy in hindsight. He genuinely loves the club and should be coming to every home game YNWA

Moores was chairman at the Merseyside club for 16 years between 1991 and 2007. Unfortunately, Moores decided that he could no longer compete financially with the new breed of overseas owners and began a long search for a buyer, which led to Tom Hicks and George Gillett taking over, but that move didn’t exactly benefit the club.
In his tweet, CEO Moore claimed that the former chairman was greeted with a warm welcome back at Anfield by staff and former players.
This then led to some fans on Twitter responding in a negative fashion.
The man is a fan, through and through. Show some respect. Hope he gets his hands on the PL trophy this season

What do we think?
It’s good to see some Liverpool fans welcome back someone who spent so long involved at the club. it’s also always nice to see a club like Liverpool still appreciating its associates from years gone by.
Of course, things have reached a new level under John W. Henry, but Moores was still a part of the development of the club at the end of the day.
