Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to share their worries over Dejan Lovren’s latest performance against Everton.
This comes after Liverpool beat Merseyside rivals 5-2 at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Despite winning the game and going eight points clear at the top of the Premier League table, some Liverpool fans decided to take the time to slate Lovren on Twitter.
Was Dejan Lovren to blame for Everton's goals?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans criticising Lovren for his display against Everton:
No one will ever convince me that Lovren isn’t an absolute liability. At fault for both goals, erratic and makes one of the best back lines in Europe look average every time he steps into it. One long ball doesn’t gloss over how poor he actually is

Lovren is such a poor defender. He’s a good footballer, but nowhere near good enough.

Lovren is a complete disgrace. He’s so bad man

Despite getting an assist in the match for Origi’s second goal, Lovren still ended up the victim of abuse on Twitter from a lot of Liverpool fans.
Lovren, who is valued at £18 million (as per Transfermarkt), received a match rating of 8.14 (WhoScored) for his performance in the Merseyside derby, so it seems harsh that fans have ripped into him so much, but his mistakes are a common theme.
You can’t have the good bits of lovren without the bad bits unfortunately

What do we think?
This Merseyside victory further showed what Lovren is all about, capable of some great moments but always has a bad side to his game too. If the Croatian can cut that poor side of his game out and fix up any silly mistakes he may make on the pitch, he would provide more stable performances for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the future.
