Liverpool fans have been fuming on Twitter after it was announced that the club will not be allowed to wear the gold FIFA patch in Premier League games.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @empireofthekop shared a post on their page revealing that the club will not be allowed to wear the FIFA Club World Cup winner’s patch in domestic games.
Should Liverpool be allowed to wear the gold FIFA badge in the Premier League?

This post also contained an article from their website relaying the information that was originally announced by the official Liverpool website.

Just can’t believe it…The fa is one hell of a joke..They should be proud of such achievement by an English club but instead they impose a ban for putting a badge on a shirt…Bonkers.

Liverpool won the FIFA Club World Cup in Qatar on Saturday after beating Flamengo 1-0 with a last-gasp Roberto Firmino winner in extra-time. Winners of the competition are then given a gold patch for their club shirts as World champions. But per regulations, if Liverpool wish to wear the patch in their domestic games, they will need to send in a formal application. This news did not go down well with some Liverpool fans who did not shy away from making their thoughts known on Twitter.
Surely surely @FA and @premierleague are proud that one of their teams are currently the Club Workd Champions??? Let them wear it with pride & show it off in every league game they are in. Showcase that quality & embrace it.

Patch or not…EVERYONE knows #LFC are FIFA World Champions! @premierleague should MANDATE the patch wearing of a domestic club achieving such honours

What do we think?
Rules are rules. Liverpool are allowed to wear the patch in European competitions such as the Champions League, just not in domestic matches.
Of course, it’s very frustrating as it should be carried over without any hassle, but now it’s up to Liverpool to make the next move.
