Some Celtic fans are fuming about the comments that Hearts midfielder Loic Damour has made in regards to Hoops midfielder Scott Brown.
The Hoops recently picked up a rather convincing 2-0 win over Hearts on Wednesday and extended their lead at the top of the Premiership to as many as five points. Ryan Christie and fellow midfielder Olivier Ntcham scored to hand the club a crucial win.
The game saw Scott Brown get booked in the first half for a foul on Hearts midfielder Aaron Hickey. The Scotsman was constantly around Loic Damour too.
The Frenchman though has made comments about how Brown influences referees. He said (via the Daily Record): “I enjoyed the battle, especially with Brown, I think his name is. Apparently he is like the king of the league because he can do whatever he wants on the pitch and the referee never says anything.
Celtic fans: Does Brown influence referees?
He does, but who cares!
Damour is talking nonsense
“He is the referee on the pitch and that is seemingly normal here. I was very frustrated about that so I wanted to let him know we have a referee on the pitch and he is not the referee.”
These comments have left Hoops fans very unhappy.
Is that him bringing the game into disrepute

Brown has played 33 times in all competitions for the Hoops this season and during this time, he has picked up as many as seven yellow cards. Three of them have come in the Premiership. When it comes to goals, Brown has four times in all competitions and also has one assist to his name.
One of his goals this season has proved to be very crucial in the title race. He scored a stoppage-time winner for the club in a league win over Hamilton three weeks ago, helping them increase their lead at the top of the table to two points. Rangers had drawn their game away to Aberdeen.
Last season, Brown had played 51 times in all competitions for the Hoops. He picked up as many as 13 yellow cards and one red card. He scored three times and racked up one assist.
What do we think?
It is so clear that Damour’s frustration is getting on his nerves. He even admits to that in his comments. Brown is a tough player to knock down and that could be very frustrating for any player. And being the fiery character that he is, referees could well get influenced by him.
