Aston Villa fans have been calling for Ahmed Elmohamady to replace the injured Frederic Guilbert for their midweek clash against Chelsea.
This comes after Villa news Twitter account @AVFC_News shared a post on their official page asking their followers who should replace the injured Guilbert for their next game against Chelsea.
This post also included an article from the Birmingham Mail announcing the news on Guilbert’s injury.
The tweet then gathered some replies from Villa fans sharing who they thought should play to cover the sidelined Guilbert.

Definitely Elmo, he’s the natural right back.

The 32-year-old Egyptian, who is valued at £2.7 million (Transfermarkt), has made just nine appearances for Villa so far this season in all competitions (per Transfermarkt). Sadly, Guilbert picked up an injury in Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Manchester United and will be unable to play in Villa’s next game against Frank Lampard’s Chelsea.

What do we think?
As Villa’s only back-up right-back, Elmohamady would be the obvious option to replace Guilbert. But maybe manager Dean Smith could tinker with his team’s formation to accommodate the absence of Guilbert in a different way. Either way, Elmohamady will be a good option to rely on.
