Aston Villa fans have been sharing their support for Tyrone Mings on Twitter after picking up an injury.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @Ryxn_AVFC shared a post on their page sending their well-wishes to Mings, saying he is the club’s “best defender by miles”.
This post then gathered many replies from Villa fans who were eager to share the same sentiments over the injured Englishman.
Is Tyrone Mings Villa's best defender?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of Villa fans sticking up for Mings:
Villa fans have very short memories, was by far one our most important players last season but a few mistakes in the Prem and people act like he was never that good in the first place

Absolutely true. This fan base hurts my head sometimes. Celebrating injuries because of a few missed place passes. He’s made mistakes. But so has everyone else. Still does more than enough to make up for it

He will be missed especially with all the games over the festive period but we have decent back up not as good but decent under Bruce we had no back line never mind back up so that’s a bonus at least

Mings, who is currently valued at £25.2 million, according to Transfermarkt, picked up a hamstring injury in Villa’s previous Premier League match, the 4-1 loss to Leicester City at Villa Park last weekend. Since then, it has been reported that Mings will not return to the team until January (Daily Mail).
With the centre-half set to miss the rest of December, some Villa fans have been rallying around the defender in support.
After not playing a lot of football in his career due to injury. He has gone a long time for villa playing games after games for us. Tbf a slight muscle injury in his eyes will be confidence as he’s had a lot worse before now. Ty is slowly becoming a top premier league defender.

He is outstanding as a player. Speaks well about important issues. Exactly what we need more of at Villa Park

Literally one of our best players , tomorrow many fickle fans

What do we think?
It’s great to see these Villa fans sticking up for Mings while he is injured. This will be a big confidence boost for the Englishman when he recovers from his unfortunate injury. Of course, Mings hasn’t exactly been at his best in recent games in the Premier League, but the Villans will definitely miss his presence at the back.
