Aston Villa fans have been gushing on Twitter over the long-awaited return of James Chester to the team.
This comes after Villa journalist Dan Bardell shared a post on his official Twitter page saying how he “loved” seeing the Welshman play in their 5-0 win over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.
This post then gathered many replies from Villa fans sharing the same sentiments on Chester.
Should James Chester keep his place in the Villa starting XI?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of Villa fans over the moon to see Chester playing again:
So happy to see him back on the field. Will never forget what he did for this club. Proper player and proper man.

The 30-year-old centre-half played his first game for Villa since January after suffering a long term knee injury back when Villa were playing in the Championship (per TransferMarkt), receiving a 6/10 from the Independent for his efforts. Now as the centre-half made his comeback in midweek at Villa Park, lots of Villa fans have been sharing their joy with seeing Chester play again.
Top man Villa true and true. Maybe he can push the boys for a first team start.

What do we think?
It was incredible to see Chester, who is valued at £4.05 million (Transfermarkt), make his return to action after suffering such a long injury. If he can keep his fitness for the rest of the season, he would surely have a role to play in Villa’s remaining half of the season, with the bonus of providing experience alongside the likes of Ezri Konsa and Kortney Hause.
