Spurs fans are continuing to get excited as the club is repeatedly linked with a move for Real Madrid star Gareth bale in January.

The latest report from AS (via Ricky Sacks), suggests that Spurs could offer £26 million as well as Christian Eriksen in an attempt to re-sign the Welshman, who left Spurs for the Spanish giants in a world-record deal back in 2013. The 30-year-old winger has regularly been linked with a move away from Los Blancos following a suggested fall-out between him and current manager Zinedine Zidane and he could well be set for a return to the Premier League next month.

Despite a largely successful spell in Spain, with 104 goals in 244 appearances, a combination of injuries and the recent banner unveiled by Bale’s international teammates have meant that he has never really endeared himself with the Real Madrid faithful. The winger’s stark contrast in performances for Real Madrid and Wales is clearly evident to Zidane, who tried and ultimately failed to sell him during the summer window, but he could finally succeed in moving him on during next month’s transfer window.

Would Bale be a good signing for Spurs?

Reaction from Spurs fans to the latest interest in Bale can be seen in the tweets below.

These Spurs fans clearly feel that money spent on Bale could definitely be used better elsewhere, so are perhaps not too keen on bringing the 30-year-old back to North London.

What do we think?

Bale was an incredible player for Spurs during his time at the club and you would hope that, if he did return, he would be able to rediscover some of that form and his passion for playing football. However, his injury-proneness and huge wage demands suggest that Spurs could perhaps do better than re-signing the £36 million rated man.
