Spurs fans were delighted to hear that the club are lining up a move for Leicester City right-back Ricardo Pereira, with Jose Mourinho reportedly a big fan of the defender.
According to Belgian news outlet Gazet van Antwerpen, Brendan Rodgers’ side are weighing up a move for Royal Antwerp right-back Aurelio Buta, should Pereira make the move to Spurs in January. It is no surprise that Mourinho is a big fan of the Portuguese full-back, as he has been instrumental in Leicester’s brilliant start to the season; starting every game and averaging an impressive 7.72 rating.
With Spurs currently struggling to keep clean sheets; with just two in the Premier League so far this season, defensive signings are seen as a priority by both Mourinho and the fans. Pereira is part of a Leicester side who have the most clean sheets in the league, so the 26-year-0ld looks like a natural replacement for Serge Aurier, although with the former Porto man currently valued at £36 million, he won’t come cheap.
Is Pereira a realistic signing for Mourinho?

These Spurs fans are clearly delighted to hear about Mourinho’s interest in Pereira and will be hoping to see the Leicester man make the move to North London.
What do we think?
Although Pereira would be a superb signing for any team in the Premier League right now, the chances of him leaving second-placed Leicester seem slim. It would presumably take a huge bid to convince Leicester to sell the right-back and with them already having received a world-record fee for a defender in Harry Maguire over the summer, it doesn’t seem as if they are in any great rush to sell players.
