Some Southampton fans have made it clear that they are disappointed to see Leeds United target Che Adams not get enough game time in the club’s first-team this season.
The Saints climbed out of the Premier League’s bottom three, thanks to a recent 3-1 win over Aston Villa at the weekend. The win saw Dean Smith’s men slide into the bottom three, with the Saints now at 17th.
A Danny Ings brace and a goal from defender Jack Stephens was enough, while Jack Grealish did score a late consolation to make it 3-1 in the 75th minute of the game. The game though, saw Che Adams came on in the second half.
Southampton fans: Should Adams be sold to Leeds?
Never! He needs time
Let him go!
Adams has been linked with a move to Leeds recently and some Saints fans are frustrated to see the summer signing not get enough gametime.
Selling him would be madness personified!

It’s a true testament to where the club is. A key signing is to be farmed out to a championship team. That’s the calibre of players we attract ones that can be loaned back to the league they care from. Ohhhh and how much did we spend?

We spent two transfer windows trying to sign Che Adams for him to get 3 minutes a game… #SaintsFC

The Saints had signed Adams from Championship side Birmingham City in the summer of 2019 for a reported £15m fee. The club had also tried to sign Adams in the winter of 2019, but had failed in that regard.
But this season, Southampton haven’t been using Adams enough. The Englishman has played only 15 times in all competitions, with 13 of them coming in the Premier League. He is yet to score in all competitions, racking up a single assist. Adams’ last start in the Premier League came in late September when Bournemouth beat them 3-1. Since then, he has made seven appearances from the bench.
Last season, Adams was in supreme form for Birmingham. He had played 48 times in all competitions, scoring 22 times and racking up five assists.
What do we think?
Not everyone can make the transition to the Premier League from the Championship in some five or six games. Adams can’t and it is unfair to criticise him for that. Not every player can be Jamie Vardy. He needs time and lower expectations.
