These Newcastle United fans are keen for the club to secure a new deal for centre-back Frederico Fernandez.
Fernandez is amongst six other players whose contract is due to shortly expire. These fans are hoping Newcastle United don’t let the Argentine’s contract run out and would like to see the Magpies offer the 30-year-old a new deal, to keep him at the club on a long-term basis. The Argentine has played 653 minutes in the Premier League so far this season, he has surprisingly also managed to score twice.
Here’s what the Newcastle fans had to say about Fernandez’s contract:
Federico Fernandez on his future: “Would I like to stay longer? Yes, it’s a great club. But, of course we need to talk in January.”

Sign him up…#nobrainer

Would you keep Federico Fernandez?
Yes
No
Being 30 years old, it’s likely that any contract that Fernandez could sign would be one of his last, however, age doesn’t seem to be catching up to him, with the Argentine maintaining an average WhoScored rating of 7.09/10.
Another 3 years is due and he has proved himself capable and says he wants to stay. We are very strong at the back with no need to change that soon.

Be madness to let him go

What Do We Think?
Considering that Federico Fernandez is the second-highest rated player when looking at WhoScored ratings amongst the Newcastle squad, it would be crazy to see the Magpies let the 30-year-old walk away to another club. Hopefully, the board can come to an agreement with the Argentine and he can continue impressing the fans with his performances.
