These Newcastle United fans weren’t impressed with the new free half-season tickets from the club.
Newcastle have announced that they will now be issuing half-season tickets for free to “qualifying nominees by existing season ticket holders on a first-come-first-served basis.” The tickets will include home matches against Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
However, hardly any of the Magpies fans were impressed with the offer, with the majority left feeling ashamed or embarrassed.
Newcastle United are urging stay-away fans (and new supporters) to return to St James’ Park by offering existing season book holders an additional half-season ticket for FREE, starting on visit of Everton, Dec 28. I’m told there’s 10,000 up for grabs. More on @SkySportsNews #NUFC

Are you going to get one of the free half-season tickets?
Yes, it's free!
Never!
Obviously the fans are rating their integrity higher than some free tickets, however, it’ll be interesting to the see how much the attendance rises when they play against Everton on 28th December, as that’s the date the new free season tickets become usable.
Desperate measures.

Having to give away tickets in the Premier League lol. Embarrassing to Charnley and Ashley for sure

What Do We Think?
Clearly this tactical move from the Newcastle board has backfired horribly, with fans even more furious than they already were. Perhaps, Newcastle should have offered the free half-season tickets to local volunteers or school children like we’ve seen in UEFA competitions when clubs receive stadium bans. Either way, it does not appear as though Mike Ashley or Lee Charnley’s popularity will be increasing any time soon.
