When Mark Douglas did a question and answers session for the Chronicle Live readers, he gave some insight into a possible Jarrod Bowen transfer to Newcastle United.
When answering the reader’s question, Mark Douglas stated: “I’m not sure Newcastle are turning their nose up at Bowen. He remains a target and a few of the reports about his future feel flimsy to me.”
Bowen has been tearing up the Championship so far this season, scoring 15 times in the 22 matches he’s played in. However, Bowen also offers some decent link-up play, with the 22-year-old managing to get four assists to go along with his impressive goal tally.

The price shouldn’t be an issue for the club, with Transfermarkt rating the Englishman at £9m; in today’s market that’s an absolute steal, although it would be very surprising if Hull would let him leave for that cheap.
Bowen started his senior career at Hereford Town, playing eight matches for the side in the Conference League; weirdly, at that level, the 22-year-old could only manage to score and assist once.
Verdict
This would be an amazing deal if Newcastle United can somehow pull it off, however, it’s likely they will have competition from other top Premier League sides.
We are very confident that Bowen would be able to play at this level, as the Championship is an extremely difficult league to play in, so for him to be finding it so easy should be impressing absolutely everybody.
