These Newcastle United fans could see the funny side of Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl’s bitter post-match comments.
The Southampton manager claimed that he could only see one team playing “football” on Sunday. Newcastle fans found these bitter comments interesting and funny, considering his side conceded in the 87th minute to lose the match 2-1. Federico Fernandez was the man to give the Magpies all three points, with the Argentine scoring his second goal of the Premier League season.
Some mocked the comments Hasenhuttl made, whilst one suggested he was as ‘bitter’ as Sheffield United’s Chris Wilder – who appeared to slam VAR following their defeat to the Magpies (BBC).
“I only saw my team playing football today,” says Ralph Hassenhutl.

Will Steve Bruce win the Premier League Manager of the Month award?
Yes
No
Danny Ings opened the scoring, putting Southampton 1-0 up going into half-time. However, goals from Jonjo Shelvey and Fernandez gave Steve Bruce an unfashionable three points; something fans continued to point out to Hasenhuttl despite his comments.
Wow I hope we still get to keep the three points

I only saw 1 team walking away with 3 pts.

What Do We Think?
Newcastle have now won their last two matches and are undefeated in three, with wins against Sheffield United and Southampton, accompanied by a thrilling draw against Manchester City. However, the Magpies are currently the third-lowest-scoring team in the Premier League, so perhaps Bruce’s side need to start scoring more despite currently being in solid form. Nonetheless, the Magpies are climbing the Premier League table at the moment, and that’s all the St. James’ Park faithful will care about for the time being.
