Some Celtic fans are hailing about the performance of Jeremie Frimpong, despite the youngster having been sent off in the League Cup final on Sunday (BBC).
The Hoops won the League Cup title once again and it was a Christopher Jullien goal that helped them do that in the second half. But it wasn’t short of action in any way, as Frimpong was sent off around that time and Alfredo Morelos missed a penalty to hand the Hoops an advantage.
Some Celtic fans aren’t too fussed about the fact that Frimpong was sent off. They are hailing his performance in the final and want more of the same from him.
Celtic fans: Should Frimpong play every game?
He deserves it
No, there are others that should play!
“Oh my days!”

He was the only outfield player who turned out today, and ironically enough he then did us a favour getting sent off, as it was the one thing that made the team start to get their act together!

The 18-year-old right-back has now become a regular right-back for Celtic under Neil Lennon. While he did take a while to break into the side early in the season, he has now established himself as a regular over Hatem Abd Elhamed.
This season, Frimpong has played 12 times in all competitions for the club. He has racked up a tally of one goal and also has three assists to his name. This happens to be the Dutchman’s first season in senior level football.
He arrived at the club from Premier League Champions Manchester City this past summer, alongside Manchester United youth product Lee O’Connor (BBC), who is yet to play first-team football for the Hoops.
At Manchester City last season, the right-back played 31 times in all competitions for the Under-23s side. He scored three goals and had three assists to his name too.
What do we think?
Frimpong has been crucial for the player this season. In his presence, the club has scored 22 goals in the Premiership. Without him, they have scored only five goals in the league. It shows how much attacking intent Frimpong brings to the plate. As the season wears on, he will be very crucial for the club.
