These Newcastle fans are buzzing to hear that one of their own has won L’Equipe’s Fan of the Year 2019 award.
The award was given to the man who drove 110 miles to Liverpool just to laugh at his Everton supporting friend after the Toon won 3-2.
Did this fan deserve the award?
Yes, hillarious stuff
No, pretty sad
It was a piece of comedy genius and has deservedly received the award for Fan of the Year – which has pleased a lot of Newcastle supporters.
L'Équipe have awarded Fan of the Year 2019 to the Newcastle United fan who travelled across England to the house of his Everton supporting friend just to laugh at him, after the Toffees lost 3-2.

Other Toon fans are just happy to have won something, as their last success was winning the Championship in 2017.

What do we think?
Could this award have gone to anyone else, really? The sheer amount of pettiness is fantastic, and the fact that he leaves straight after makes the video even better.
The game itself was a brilliant match for Newcastle as they came from 2-0 down to seal a 3-2 win thanks to a double from Ayoze Perez and a superb volley by Salomon Rondon.
If any Newcastle fan was going to do what this one did, then he chose the perfect game for it.
Although, supporters would surely much rather see one of their players actually pick up an award, opposed to a fan.
