Barcelona’s promising young left-back Juan Larios could be Manchester bound sooner rather than later. The Catalan giants’ Director of Youth Football Patrick Kluivert is resigned to the fact the club will lose the player with City said to be in pole position to secure his services.

When quizzed on the subject the legendary striker remarked: “What can I do if there are players who don’t want to be in Barcelona?”

Larios who is regarded as one of La Masia’s finest products in recent years has been linked with a move to the Etihad for quite some time now and it appears a move is edging closer.

TIF Tactics – His mind is made up

According to SPORT, Barcelona have made a number of offers to Larios in an attempt to persuade him to stay in Spain but it appears the 15-year-old has his heart set on a move to the Premier League.

He turns 16 on the 12th January making him free to complete his move to England should he so wish.

Any investment in Larios would no doubt be one for the future given he’s still so young, but he’s clearly shown the Manchester City hierarchy enough to persuade them to make a move.

The transfer, should it happen, could perhaps be a huge blow to Barcelona who’s famous La Masia academy has produced some of the world’s greatest players including Xavi, Iniesta and the great Lionel Messi, whilst the Catalan’s could be looking to find themselves a replacement for Jordi Alba in the near future.

The fact that Larios appears to be keen on the move shows you just how far the Cityzen’s have come in recent years, to prise one of La Masia’s talents away from a club as historic and loved as Barcelona at such a tender age is not to be sniffed at.
