Fernandinho partnered Eric Garcia in the centre of Manchester City’s defence during their victory over Sheffield United at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday. The Brazilian, perhaps best known for his ability to anchor the midfield, has found himself covering for the injured Aymeric Laporte in what has no doubt been a problem position for Pep Guardiola’s side.
With constant speculation regarding his future, it seems as though the club’s supporters are looking to exploit any opportunity to express their desire for him to stay.
His latest post-match social media post was no different, as many of the club’s faithful decided to use it as an ideal chance to beg him to stay at the Etihad for as long as possible.
Is Fernandinho deserving of one more year?

What do we think?
It is looking increasingly unlikely that Fernandinho will be a Manchester City player at the start of next season and given all he’s achieved in England, you can understand why the fans are desperate for him to stay on.
However, the reality is that Pep Guardiola must rebuild. Particularly in the defensive areas and unfortunately the Brazilian isn’t getting any younger.
Whatever happens at the end of this current campaign, Fernandinho will always be regarded as a City legend having helped the club achieve three Premier League titles, four League Cups and an FA Cup.
