Manchester City take on Dinamo Zagreb in their final UEFA Champions League group game on Wednesday night. Pep Guardiola’s side have already sealed top spot in Group C and so it wouldn’t be wrong to expect to see an under-strength side with a trip to the Emirates stadium to face a re-energised Arsenal to come at the weekend.
The club have provided an injury update ahead of the game and although there is nothing that will have come as a surprise to the club’s supporters they are less than impressed.

Although the update mentions both Sergio Aguero and David Silva too, all the criticism in the comments is aimed at England defender John Stones.

What do we think?
John Stones’ performances of late have come in for criticism and rightly so. He’s been nowhere near the level expected at Manchester City and the fact Guardiola has publicly stated he trusts Fernandinho in that position more than either of his central defensive options is a damning indictment of how poor the Englishman and Nicolas Otamendi have been in recent months.
It’s safe to say these supporters aren’t overly fond of Stones at present and if Guardiola is to stay on for another season, it will be interesting to see how he looks to rebuild in an area that has been largely problematic for his side.
