Manchester City star Fernandinho could be set to leave the club this summer and although there was speculation around his potential departure prior, Riyad Mahrez’s slip of the tongue during a video with Sky Sports Football last week is the latest big hint in regards to the Brazilian’s future.
He’s been asked to deputise in the City defence since Aymeric Laporte suffered a knee injury and was forced to undergo surgery back in early September.
In a social media post ahead of the club’s trip to Molineux, the former Shakhtar Donetsk player received an influx of replies begging him to stay with the Manchester club for at least another season.
Would you like to see Fernandinho stay another season?

What do we think?
Fernandinho has been a great servant to the football club and since his arrival in 2013, he’s tasted Premier League glory three times. If Pep Guardiola’s side could win the Champions League in what could be the 34-year-old’s final season, it would be the fairytale ending an often unsung hero like the Brazilian deserves.
The club’s attacking talent are often praised for their part in the successes but Fernandinho is the glue that holds their operation together. His versatility has proven vital this season and although it appears Guardiola sees Gundogan and Rodri as the future in the midfield role, perhaps, the club could persuade him to stick around for another season and provide cover when necessary.
