Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been speaking about Phil Foden again in the lead up to their Champions League tie with Dinamo Zagreb. With qualification already in the bag and top spot in Group C secured, the Spaniard is set to make numerous changes, one of which should see Foden given a rare start.
Guardiola’s latest comments (reported via the clubs official Twitter account) in which he claims: “It is difficult to find the space” to start Foden has led to these supporters sharing their views on the matter and it’s clear they feel he’s ready.
Should Phil Foden start in the Premier League?
Yes
No
He’s playing so much better than Gundo and David

Needs to start him more and bring David on if it’s not working. Not going to gain experience on the bench every week. The league has gone now so put him in every week nothing to lose now. The local lad would of gave some fight on Saturday which we needed. #ctwd

Hype him to the heavens only to play him in 89mins of league games and dead rubber games in Europe while a 76 year old pensioner starts every 3 day… Proper Genius? well done Pep?

What do we think?
Perhaps Guardiola doesn’t have as much faith in Foden as he proclaims in public. There are lots of talented players at the club who play in a similar position and with the pressure to win at Manchester City so high, you can understand why the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss more often than not puts his faith in his more seasoned professionals.
All Foden can do is keep taking his opportunities when they present themselves and make it increasingly difficult for the coach to leave him out – starting in Zagreb on Wednesday night.
