These Liverpool fans weren’t pleased with the referee appointment for Thursday’s clash against Sheffield United.
When Paul Tierney has taken charge of a Liverpool match, the Merseyside club has won 80% of those matches. However, Jurgen Klopp’s side is looking set to be in for a tight game against Sheffield United on Thursday, with just 12 goals being scored from both sides over the last five meetings.
Here’s what the Liverpool fans had to say about the news on Twitter, which was relayed by The Kop HQ:
Paul Tierney referee & Kevin Friend VAR for Liverpool v Sheff Utd on 2nd January.

Will a VAR decision win or lose Liverpool the match against Sheffield United?
Win
Lose
Liverpool are currently 13 points clear of second-place Leicester City, with Manchester City in third place still 14 points behind, although it appears some of the Anfield faithful may feel that point gap could tighten up with the appointment of Tierney and Friend.
Are they really our friends? They guy on duty yesterday tried everything to gift Wolves a point

What Do We Think?
Sheffield United are playing very well this season, currently sitting eighth in the Premier League and full of confidence. Whereas Liverpool has been dominant all season, but will also be coming to fight on Thursday night.
Whilst there will always be plenty of thoughts surrounding the officials that will be in charge of proceedings, it is really only down to whether Klopp’s side perform on the day – something which should not be in too much doubt.
