Liverpool fans are angry after former Arsenal attacker Samir Nasri has said he would prefer to play alongside Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez rather than Mohamed Salah.
When Nasri was speaking to Lebuteur he stated: “Between Mahrez and Salah, I would prefer to evolve alongside Mahrez. Why? Because he is Algerian and because I also like his style of play. ”
The argument is very poorly backed-up by Nasri, as using the term “because he is Algerian” is hardly a valid point on why a player is better than another player. In the Premier League this season, Salah has scored nine goals, that’s four more than Mahrez. When it comes to league assists the City man and Liverpool star are both tied on four.
Here’s what the Liverpool fans had to say about Samir Nasri’s comments:
Samir Nasri says he would prefer to play alongside Riyad Mahrez over Mo Salah, with Liverpool’s forward considered to be “an individual player”.
“Salah only aspires to score goals. I wouldn’t say Salah is selfish but he runs after goals and statistics.”https://t.co/fZQ4jh7cQu

Because he is Algeria all Algeria’s trying to make Mahrez best than Salah and jealous of what Salah is getting shame I don’t hate Mahrez but some Algeria’s fans are embarrassing

He is a former City player what else should he say

Do we care what someone like him has to say? Always had a terrible attitude and his career didn’t fulfil its potential because of it. Salah is the king of Egypt for a reason, Nasri is the king of underachievers.

Who is the better player?
Mohamed Salah
Samir Nasri
Riyad Mahrez
These fans clearly believe there is no comparison between the two players and with Mahrez only starting eight games for Man City this season, are they completely wrong?
Well ofcourse he would choose Mahrez. He would play alongside him on the bench most of the time.

Samir who?

What Do We Think?
Nasri, who is valued at £2.7 million (as per Transfermarkt), is hardly the world’s greatest pundit, so these Liverpool fans probably don’t care as much as he might have been hoping they would.
This season especially, Salah has been far better than Mahrez, but that may be because he gets more game time, having played 1195 Premier League minutes compared to the Algerian’s 770; however that is also something the Egyptian has earnt from Jurgen Klopp. With Mahrez struggling to get game time; playing six games off the bench this season, it’s difficult to see how you could make a case for him?
