These Liverpool fans react to the latest official club update on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s injury.
The update from Jurgen Klopp didn’t sound too positive for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, with the German manager stating: “The ankle [is] what we probably expected; you have three ligaments on the outside of the ankle, one of them is damaged.”
So far this season Oxlade-Chamberlain has played more matches off the bench than he has started; playing just five games from the start, with the other seven coming on as a substitute.
According to Klopp, this will also be the end of the midfielder’s year, stating: “No chance for Thursday and no chance for this year; Oxlade will not play anymore [in 2019] that’s clear.”

What Do We Think?
With Liverpool being currently undefeated in the Premier League, Klopp will be keen to have as many players available to him as possible. With Oxlade-Chamberlain being more of a backup player at the moment, that can sometimes be even more costly, as the German manager right now has no pacey impact midfielder to bring on.
