Leicester City right-back Ricardo Pereira is said to be one of Tottenham Hotspur manager’s Jose Mourinho’s top transfer targets having impressed since his arrival from FC Porto in July 2018.

The Foxes are currently flying high at the top of the Premier League 13 points clear of Spurs but the North London club could be set to test Leicester’s resolve by making a formal approach.

Belgian outlet Gazet Van Antwerpen (as per Sport Witness) are reporting Brendan Rodgers side will likely make a move for Royal Antwerp defender Aurelio Buta if they are to allow Ricardo to join up with his compatriot Jose Mourinho.

Should LCFC look to hold onto Ricardo at all costs?

TIF Tactics – Why would anybody want to leave Leicester now?

Ricardo has proven to be a key player in a very good Leicester City side starting in every single one of their 17 Premier League games this season. Although a defender his contributions in the final third have been key making him one of the most complete full-backs in the division.

The 26-year-old, who is valued at £36m by TransferMarkt, has scored two goals and provided one assist to date whilst forming a formidable defensive unit alongside Jonny Evans, Caglar Soyuncu and Ben Chilwell.

Brendan Rodgers will not want to part ways with a player who has proven to be a consistently brilliant performer but will the lure of Mourinho and Tottenham prove too much?

That remains to be seen but as it stands, there are no signs the player is even considering leaving the King Power Stadium, and why would he? Or that Leicester are in a position whereby they need to sell. With the transfer season around the corner the rumour mill is in full swing.
