Fans of Everton have reacted to a supposed ‘snub’ from Eddie Howe regarding the open managerial position with the Toffees.
According to the Telegraph, the Cherries are confident that the English manager would remain with the south coast club even if the Toffees did come calling, which apparently constitutes as a ‘snub’ according to the Liverpool Echo (Live blog, 09:41, 12/12/2019).
With supporters not wanting Howe to be appointed in the first place, they were delighted to hear of this ‘snub’ in the offing.

Wouldn’t he have to be in the running first? Wouldn’t want that clown anywhere near here.

Would Eddie Howe be successful if Everton were to appoint him?Yes, he's proved he can be successfulNo, it's only a sideways move really |
Over two stints at the Vitality Stadium, which were divided by just under two years with Burnley, Howe has overseen 430 matches at the helm of the Cherries (per Transfermarkt).
However, this season, things look a little more perilous for the 42-year-old, having won only four in 16 games and sitting 15th in the Premier League table (as per BBC).
Due to the south coast club faring worse than the Toffees so far this term, with one point fewer, supporters were pleased to see any link between the two have cold water poured on it.
Oh no, please, don’t…

What do we think?
While at first glance it does appear strange that Eddie Howe would ‘snub’ a job that he is not really in the running for, that is not actually what he said, meaning some of the criticism of him is unwarranted.
What he actually explained was that he is committed to Bournemouth and embarrassed about the links to other jobs because their current, poor form does not warrant it (per The Telegraph).
