Everton: Supporters react to Duncan Ferguson staying involved as part of Carlo Ancelotti’s staff

Supporters of Everton have reacted to Carlo Ancelotti revealing that Duncan Ferguson is set to stay on as part of the club’s first-team staff.

In his first press conference as the Toffees’ new boss, Ancelotti revealed that the man who has been in caretaker charge of the club would remain involved in the set up (as per Everton), which had some supporters delighted.

Is it the right decision for Carlo Ancelotti to keep Duncan Ferguson at Goodison Park?

Yes, he's a useful asset

No, not what we need

Over four games as caretaker manager, Ferguson has avoided defeat over 90 minutes against Chelsea, Manchester United, Leicester City and Arsenal, which has reinvigorated the struggling club (per BBC).

However, some supporters speculated that appointing Ferguson to be involved in the first team was not really what Ancelotti would have wanted.

Although other supporters were quick to pour cold water on any discussion that Ferguson was no longer wanted at Goodison Park.

What do we think?

As some supporters suggested, there is likely no way that the Scotsman would be staying if Ancelotti did not want him to. Ferguson has proven himself to be an incredibly useful asset and motivator, so it is great that he is being kept around.
