Some Everton fans are jubilant about the latest tweet that was sent out by the club’s new manager Carlo Ancelotti following their Premier League win over Burnley on Boxing Day.
The Toffees hired Ancelotti as the club’s new boss days after he was sacked by Serie A giants Napoli. Marco Silva was sacked and Duncan Ferguson had taken charge of three of the club’s games before Ancelotti came in.
But the Burnley game saw Dominic Calvert-Lewin score an 80th-minute winner to lift the Toffees up to 13th in the table.
Everton fans: Were you happy with the performance v Burnley?

Thanks to the win against Burnley, the Toffees are now unbeaten in as many as their last four Premier League games. The run started right after Silva’s sacking following a damaging 5-2 defeat to Merseyside rivals Liverpool. Since then, they’ve beaten Chelsea and have held both Manchester United and Arsenal to draws.
As things stand, the club has scored 21 goals in the Premier League and that is the fifth-worst record so far in the league. When it comes to goals conceded, the Toffees have let in a total of 29 goals in the competition and that is the sixth-worst record in the division.
They were knocked out of the League Cup recently by Leicester City, who beat them on penalties after a 2-2 draw in normal time two weeks ago.
What do we think?
It is clear that Ancelotti is taking forward the sound defensive attributes of the side that Ferguson had used. He is just making minor adjustments and adding some of his own style. The Toffees had played a 4-4-2 style under Ferguson as well and that is similar to what we saw from Ancelotti, therefore, it should bode well for the future.
