Supporters of Everton were left in stitches following a story surrounding one of the club’s former players, Sunderland’s Aiden McGeady.
According to the Sunderland Echo, the Irishman is set to depart the Stadium of Light following a row behind the scenes which has led to him being transfer listed.
Roker Report went on to shed more light on the situation with a photo of the former Everton winger pictured in McDonald’s, which had apparently led to the initial row (via Everton News Feed), which left Everton fans in stitches.

Should Everton attempt to resign Aiden McGeady in the January transfer window?Yes, we may as well doNo, don't be ridiculous |
During his time at Goodison Park, the Irishman featured in 43 games for the Toffees, in which he bagged one goal and provided seven assists for teammates (as per Transfermarkt).
Among the hilarity surrounding the story, some took the side of the 33-year-old, feeling that it could not possibly be that big of a deal to eat in the fast-food chain.
It’s food. Shocking story. Professional athletes need to get calories onboard. It’s not as if he’s some fat bird who gets taxis to the post office and back.

Didn’t realise Big Mac was on the WOrld anti doping agency (WADA) list of banned substances for athletes.

What do we think?
The whole situation just seems a strange one, perhaps the McDonald’s was just the straw that broke the camels back and perhaps there is something lurking deeper beneath the scenes.
