Supporters of Everton have called for the club’s former midfielder, Lee Carsely, to feature in tonight’s Merseyside Derby.
On Wednesday morning, the 45-year-old Irishman simply tweeted: ‘come on then..’, referring to the clash between Liverpool and Everton at Anfield tonight (via Lee Carsely).
With the Goodison Park faithful fearful of a hammering, many, with tongue firmly in cheek, called on the club’s former midfielder to get some minutes against Jurgen Klopp’s outfit.
Come on then..

Do Everton have any chance of success at Anfield in the Merseyside derby? No, we're doomedYes, there's a chance |
Carsley played for the Toffees between 2002 and 2008, making a total of 196 appearances for the Goodison Park club, bagging 12 goals and four assists (per Transfermarkt).
Whilst that is, by no means, a bad return for a defensive midfielder, many felt that it was his type of character that the club needed in a clash like tonight’s.
Wish you were playing….

What do we think?
It is certainly going to be a tough task for Marco Silva and his side at Anfield and a few characters of the like of Carsley certainly would not go a miss in the clash.
