|

Everton could be set to lose veteran forward Oumar Niasse in the winter transfer window, according to Takvim, as covered by Sporx.

Reportedly, Fenerbahce are interested in taking the 29-year-old forward off the Toffees’ hands and has even gone as far as to open talks with the Senegalese striker’s representatives (via Sport Witness).

Destined for departure

The £3.6-million rated man has featured in only one minute of Premier League action so far this term (per Transfermarkt), pointing every assumption in the direction that he is no longer wanted at Goodison Park.

Having featured for the club’s Under-23s on a number of occasions so far this term (via Liverpool Echo), Niasse has been somewhat outcast at the club and seems destined to depart either in January or the summer.

Should Everton be looking to sell Oumar Niasse in January?

Yes, he's not needed

No, gives good depth

TiF Tactics – Who could replace Niasse?

In reality, a man who has man only a minute’s worth of appearances so far in a whole season does not really need replacing at all.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Moise Kean, Cenk Tosun and Richarlison, who is able to play as a striker, all ahead of the Senegalese 29-year-old (per Transfermarkt), the club has viable options.

However, in recent weeks the Toffees have been linked with a move for a striker, the veteran Swede, Zlatan Ibrahimovic (via BBC).

If Everton can get anywhere near Niasse’s £3.6-million value that could be used to fuel the contract that would be required to sign the 38-year-old frontman for the remainder of the season and possibly for one extra.

With 53 goals and 15 assists in 58 outings for his last club, LA Galaxy (per Transfermarkt), it is clear that Ibrahimovic still has class and would doubtlessly be an upgrade on Niasse.
