Supporters of Everton were left gutted following the news that Mauricio Pochettino had ‘rejected an approach’ from the Toffees to replace Marco Silva.
It was reported on Friday morning that the Merseyside club had made an approach to appoint the Argentine as their new boss (per The Times), however, by the afternoon news had broke that he was not interested (via The Athletic).
With supporters refusing to get their hopes up initially, they were still gutted to hear that the former Spurs gaffer had so swiftly knocked the North West club back.

Would Mauricio Pochettino have done a good job if appointed by Everton? No, he's not suited to usYes, he's a fantastic manager |
The Toffees currently look to be in a perilous position, with the club staring down the barrel of an incredibly tough run of fixtures and sitting in the drop zone of the Premier League (via BBC).
Whoever will be brought in looks to have an incredibly tough job on their hands, however, fans from the blue half of Merseyside were still gutted to hear that the Argentine would not be the person taking the reigns.

What do we think?
It is certainly unfortunate that the Toffees were knocked back in their quest for the Argentine, however, it would never have realistically been on the cards.
There should be a good swirl of suggested potential managers before anything will be set in concrete – one would think.
