Crystal Palace managed to just sneak a win against West Ham after Jordan Ayew scored an absolutely stunning goal in the 90th minute to win the game for the Eagles. Roy Hodgson will credit his Ghanaian winger’s moment of brilliance as the play that won his team the match, however, there were many standout performers in the game.
Crystal Palace posted an appreciation tweet for Jairo Riedewald. The Dutch left-back, who is valued at £3.6 million (as per Transfermarkt), was brought on for Patrick van Aanholt in the 65th minute. He then made a massive block to deny Manuel Lanzini in the 86th minute. Fans didn’t downplay his importance, with one fan claiming that they would have lost the match if not for his involvement.
Great performance from Jairo

We genuinly would have lost this game without it.

Do you think Jairo Riedewald should start over Patrick van Aanholt
Yes
No
Another fan would be willing to give Riedewald a starting spot over his international teammate.
That important he is now my number 1 choice at left back!!

What do we think?
It is undeniable that had Lanzini’s shot gone in, it would have completely changed the complexion of the game. Fans will be happy that so many players put in game-winning performances during their match against West Ham. With a match against Southampton up next, the Eagles have a chance to see 2019 off with a win.
