Despite receiving a red card in the 19th minute when Mamadou Sakho fouled Adam Smith, Crystal Palace showed great resolve to win the game 1-0. Substitute Jeffrey Schlupp came on to score the winner in the 76th minute (BBC).
Superstar Wilfried Zaha tweeted out about how proud he was of the team. It was a great victory after three consecutive losses to difficult opponents. Fans responded to Zaha’s tweet, stating how proud they were of his individual performance, as well as the team’s. They indicated that he had a huge part to play in the victory, suffering multiple fouls. They even think he could have won a penalty.

What do we think?
Zaha is an important part of this Palace team. The club will be hoping to keep ahold of him in the January transfer window. If they can continue to squeeze out these kind of wins for the remainder of the season, they could be well on their way to a comfortable finish in the top half of the league.
