Some Crystal Palace fans are expressed their scepticism about the club’s chase for Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard and feel that it might not be possible for them to sign the Frenchman.
The Athletic have recently indicated that Palace are looking to sign a striker in the upcoming January transfer window and feel that Celtic’s Edouard would be a very good option for them in the winter. It is stated that the Eagles could make an offer soon.
Crystal Palace fans: Would you like Edouard at Selhurst Park?
Brilliant option!
We need better!
A debate about Edouard’s potential signing broke out on Twitter. And some Palace fans are in slight disbelief about the news and they can’t believe that it could be possible.
We could do a lot of things but we won’t do anything!

We can only dream but u know we’ll end up with some old jalopy a year off retirement & no sell on value for free.

We COULD get Edouard and sell Benteke but we’ll actually keep Big Ben until his contract runs down and Loan Sturridge instead.

Edouard is currently 21 and has been a key part of the Hoops’ attack since last season. He has grown in his role, ever since he was tasked with replacing Moussa Dembele.
This season, he has impressed in front of goal too. He has found the back of the net 14 times in all competitions for the club, racking up a tally of 13 assists as well. He has played 34 times during this time too.
Last season, the Frenchman had impressed in front of goal too. He played 52 times in all competitions for the club, finding the back of the net 22 times during this time, also racking up eight assists.
He was the Hoops’ most expensive summer signing when he joined permanently from Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of £9million.
Indeed, those figures would help to improve Palace’s goal-scoring woes, as the likes of Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend have been relied upon heavily to help find the back of the net for Roy Hodgson’s side on a regular basis.
What do we think?
Edouard, who is valued at £6.75 million (as per Transfermarkt), is currently indispensable for the Hoops. The manner in which he has replaced Moussa Dembele has made him a fans favourite at Parkhead. As much as Palace do need a striker to get them goals, it’s unlikely Celtic can afford to lose him at any point this summer.
