According to The Sun, Chelsea, Leicester, West Ham and Tottenham are the clubs apparently watching Queens Park Rangers star Eberechi Eze.

The Sun valued Eze at £20m and have stated that former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, had instructed his scouts to watch the 21-year-old ahead of ‘a potential bid in January.’ Other Premier League clubs such as Chelsea, Leicester and West Ham were also said to be watching the QPR talent.

According to The Sun: “Pochettino was a huge fan of Eze but his sacking may put on hold a Spurs move for the midfielder.”

Interestingly, QPR had been expecting the bid to arrive next month, but now they could be able to keep hold of Eze until the end of the season.

Should QPR cash in on Eberechi Eze?

Eze has played all 19 league games so far this season, scoring seven goals and managing four assists. The 21-year-old has also been named the man of the match five times. The Nigerian is also very active in front of the goal, averaging 1.1 shots every 45 minutes per game.

Mark Warburton has previously praised the 21-year-old very highly after their victory against Hull: “Ebere is a very, very talented young player. There is loads of work for him to do and loads of potential for him to still discover.”

Verdict

Obviously, QPR fans and Warburton will be very keen to keep hold of their wanted man. However, when clubs such as Tottenham and Chelsea come knocking they can be hard to turn down, especially if he’s offered a decent amount of playing time in the Premier League.

We wouldn’t want to see the 21-year-old go, however, if he does reach the type of money that The Sun was suggesting, then that would leave the Hoops with a lot of money to play with in the transfer window, but Eze would have to be replaced immediately, otherwise the Rs could be in some trouble during the final part of the season.
